Branch Manager, Associate Broker

Over the past 10 years, Luis Martinez has earned a reputation as a broker who goes above and beyond for his clients. His straight forward approach, cumulative knowledge of every facet of the business, and wry sense of humor, have repeatedly proven to be essential assets in the often mercurial world of Brooklyn real estate.
Luis’ eclectic background provided a solid foundation for his current position as branch manager of Warren Lewis’ Williamsburg office.  A Washington D.C. native, Luis attended the University College London where he received a degree in economics. He then moved back to D.C. where he worked for many years as a writer/editor specializing in environmental compliance. Then his sister asked his help in opening Washington D.C.’s first Gianni Versace boutique where he developed large and diverse client roster.
But soon New York called and Luis sold his apartment and moved to Brooklyn, where he worked briefly as writer/editor for a health care not-for-profit, before jumping headfirst into real estate where he excelled within a short period of time. After having bought and sold properties of his own, Luis took the next step and embarked on a two year process of building his dream home from the ground up in the red hot Gowanus area. The result is an architectural testament to being able to push through the seeming endless obstacles and daunting setbacks that a homeowner can face when realizing their vision.
Over the last year, Luis partnered up with fellow D.C. expat, Ben Wartofsky to assure that their clients real estate needs are met beyond their expectations. Luis and Ben’s accessible approach has proven very popular with sellers and buyers who appreciate attention to detail.
In his spare time, Luis enjoys riding his motorcycle, vintage cars, jiu jitsu (he co-owns a mixed martial arts school in Connecticut—www.ultimatemmact.com) and the never-ending quest for a really great cheeseburger.
