Brooklyn Dining: 3 of the Best Restaurants in Williamsburg

New York City has some of the finest dining establishments in the world. From bars to bistros, burgers to lobster bisque, NYC is teeming with rich culinary experiences. The eateries located in Brooklyn are no exception. Brooklynites have known this for years. Each neighborhood has its own local spots to brag about. Many of them are located in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg. Brooklyn hot spots are beloved by local residents for their mouth-watering eats, unique locations and the unequivocal experiences they provide. Below are just three of what we consider to be the best restaurants in Williamsburg, a list that is sure to satisfy any hunger and make the night out rewarding and memorable.

Iona, at the corner of Grand Street and Bedford Avenue, is just 11 years old, and is located in an old candy shop. Named after an ancient burial island for Scottish Kings, Iona is the place in Brooklyn to watch UK premier league football. Games are displayed on a large HD projection screen and three additional HD televisions. The bar opens early Saturday and Sunday mornings so that fans can catch the British matches. With 22 beers on tap, more than 30 imported bottles of beer and ale, and top-shelf liquors and mixed drinks, the bar is fully stocked. The kitchen, open all day and late nights, cooks up scrumptious pies, and has vegetarian options like spinach or veggie curry pie, and cheesy, savory paninis.

DuMont Burger was created as an offshoot of the DuMont Restaurant, which takes its name from a neon sign salvaged from the 1940s-50s DuMont Television Network building where the original restaurant is located. Dumont Burger specializes in its namesake, burgers, but their menu has grown to include much, much more. A separate kitchen is dedicated to takeout dining, and the full bar doesn't close until 2 AM. With daily specials, fresh doughnuts in the morning and famous dishes like the DuMac & Cheese, this spot is perfect at any time of the day or night. DuMont Burger is located at 314 Bedford Avenue.

Banter Bar, a public house located at 132 Havemeyer Street, seats 60 and is decorated in a crisp, clean way resembling a traditional pub with a twist. Their bar menu is an impressive mix of 20 imported and local beers on tap, and a long list of bottled beers, bourbons, whiskeys and wine. In addition to all their imbibing options, the kitchen serves flavorful paninis.

The best restaurants in Williamsburg are known not only for their tasty treats, but also their atmosphere. Whether it is their amazing burgers, numerous beers on tap or love of premier league football, the above spots are sure to provide a special dining experience that leaves you fully satisfied.
