Carroll Gardens Restaurants

Bino offers Italian cuisine that rivals many of the famous spots in Manhattan. Every table starts with complementary white bruschetta, and departs from there to rich noodle dishes like Carbonara or Bucatini. Diners might also want to try the Chicken Piccata, a red sauce chicken dish that is not reminiscent of any other Italian dish most people have ever had. Those who want to finish the meal off with a dessert will be delighted by the sweet and savory traditional Italian pine nut and pistachio sundae. From front to back, meals at Bino are a treat to enjoy heavy during the winter, or light during the summer.

Brooklyn Farmacy was on the bleeding edge of the rebirth of the soda fountain. They are so dedicated to the reminiscent 1940s that three generations can dine together and all experience something magical. Grandparents will marvel at how true the soda is to what it was when they were young, parents will connect to the stories of their own parents, and children will experience an old treat made new. But soda is not the only thing worth enjoying at the Brooklyn Farmacy. It might not offer meals, but why not drop by after dinner for an egg cream or red velvet Twinkie dessert? Most people will gladly forgo dinner to enjoy the shakes and ice creams that are served in this little shop, an establishment devoted to all local ingredients.

Dubuque, the most French-sounding name to land a top three nod, serves good ol’ Americana: burgers, to be exact. The pesto mushroom-stuffed burger is a delight to the tongues of its eaters, and the Brie and spinach burger is strangely refreshing for beef. Diners rave about the Brussels sprouts, fries and lamb burgers. If this restaurant ever earns a negative review, the rest of the burger world might have a chance of staging a comeback. Otherwise, Dubuque is the reigning champion of the ground beef (or lamb) patty on a bun. These few square blocks of the neighborhood house plenty of other Carroll Gardens restaurants, but these three are must-eat stops.
